2012 Groves Affair of the Arts
A Success Despite the Weather

With the weather staving off event-goers until noon, hundreds of people came out on Saturday to attend the 2nd Annual Groves Affair of the Art event. There were an estimated 1,500-2,000 event-goers who came out to browse through displays of many different crafts and art pieces, going from tent to tent, table to table, or booth to booth at their leisure meeting the artists and crafts people who designed and created the items.
Those attending the event were entertained throughout the day by the band San Hedrin, National Steel Guitar Champion Betty Williamson Hickman & her band, and THE JAZZ INNOVATORS from Beaumont. The most popular activity of the day took place at the large tent set up in Celebration Park where 150 kids painted on canvas to create their own personal masterpiece.
The Groves Affair of the Arts committee and the Groves Chamber of Commerce & Tourist Center wish to thank all the vendors who stuck it out through the unpleasant morning weather conditions, the City of Groves, and all of the volunteers who helped make this a very successful affair. We would especially like to thank our sponsors, Golden Triangle Federal Credit Union and Larry’s French Market & Cajun Restaurant, along with all those who attended the event.
Now that the 2nd Annual Groves Affair of the Arts event is history, the planning has already begun to make next year’s event even better. The 2013 Groves Affair of the Arts will be held on the 3rd Saturday of April, April 20th. We hope to see you next year!
